61st Annual Meeting of the Southeast Conference of the Association for Asian Studies
Post Date : 2022-01-25

Together with Prof. Sau Hou Chang (right, bottom picture) from the School of Education and Dr. Kagna Ouch Sampson from the School of Natural Sciences, we presented our roundtable discussion on the topic of street food from Asia countries during the 61st annual meeting of the Southeast Conference of the Association for Asian Studies at the University of Louisville in Kentucky on January 15, 2022.

I presented and discussed popular street food culture from Malaysia and its history and trend and their underlying relevance and influence in the country's multiethnic racial compositions. The three of us, together with other three colleagues, Prof. Faye Camahalan (Dean, School of Education), Prof. Ranida Harris (School of Business), and Prof. Shen Yu (School of Social Sciences) who presented their topic on the Covid-19 pandemic preparedness in the Philippines, Thailand, and China, represent Indiana University Southeast as two separate roundtable groups during the conference which began on Jan 14 and ended on Sunday, Jan 16, 2022.

EDDE 2021 Design Education Conference
Post Date : 2023-03-17

The EDDE Online Design Education in 2022 was the result of two years of planning and was held from September 1 - 3, 2021. The conference was organized in collaboration with Professor Mandar Rane and Dr. Purba Joshi from the Industrial Design Center (IDC) School of Design, IIT Bombay, and Adjunct Prof. Sheeraz Wania from George Brown College in Toronto, Canada. After the website launch in late September 2021, the call for abstracts was made in early October. The conference, which utilized the Zoom platform, was attended by around 100 participants who had an engaging session over the course of three days. One of the most significant benefits of the virtual format was that attendees appreciated the low resource, planning, and budgetary requirements in comparison to traditional in-person conferences, which may also necessitate international travel. The conference videos are now available on the EDDE-Designeducationconfer1116 YouTube channel, where viewers are encouraged to subscribe and show support by liking the content. Those interested in being kept informed about future events are encouraged to follow the Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/EDDECONF for updates and announcements.
